It was a fun read with believable and diverse characters. It was also a much-needed palate cleanser after reading heavy books but I loved the funny and sweet moments between Sam and Troy, even the side characters like Corwin and Lawson were a great addition. I did like that there was no third-act break and miscommunication. The characters were fleshed out and were mature in how they handled certain situations that occurred. I did wish the epilogue was more focused on Sam and Troy like their trip but it was nice to get a teaser for the second book.
