It was a quick, fast read that I found to be a disappointind read overall. For majority of the book, it appears the main character is flailing around cluelessly about how to respond to the strange, inexplicable events happening around her. To make matters worse, despite having a dark and traumatic past, the main character comes across as a Mary-Sue with a heart of gold in desparate need of a second chance.  When that second chance finally does come, she works her darn hardest to destroy this chance by continually to ask questions and dig for answers, when repeatedly told not to.  For someone with a hardened past, the main character has no sense of self preservation.

When the pieces finally start to fall into place, the final twist feels very left field, not at all how imagined the story to conclude.
