I think if the magic system and the world building of Ilya was a little more elaborate it would’ve been more intriguing to read because it would’ve made more sense when they would fight in trials. Overall the whole book felt just underdeveloped and felt like it was constantly jumping all over the place. It was also a bit repetitive but could’ve been bc of the two povs but idk I just was not a fan of this book even tho tik tok was hyping it up a lot :/ I think if I would have never read Hunger Games, TOG, Divergent, Maze Runner before then maybe I would’ve liked this book.
