Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

5.0

This is one of those books which I read in July when my hard drive failed. Taking the draft of the review I had written. So this is off the top of my head. And I remember how amazingly brilliant this was. I cried. I cried so hard, so much.

A young woman lost and seemingly doomed to a future of drudgery. A young man doomed by inattention. A family of "distinction" lost. A sometimes supportive lower-class family.

Moyes addresses intense issues. Relationships and how one sees one's self. Acceptance. New perspectives. Choosing one fate over another.

She pulls it together so well, and you'll want to curse, to scream, to lash out. You'll feel both protagonists.

Me Before You is a sometimes tedious journey as you wonder where Moyes is headed, but I assure you that it's a journey worth taking if only for the new perspective you will gain on several issues most of us prefer to ignore.
