Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

5.0

After so many doubts whether I should read this or not (I'm into dystopian and fantasy lately), I finally read it and fell in love. It was a cute, light read that I enjoyed a lot. There were a lot of sweet moments, but didn't focus too much on it. Friendships were highlighted as well.

I liked all the characters especially Anna and St. Clair, even if I have some issues with St. Clair. They're good together, because they aren't just lovers but bestfriends too. I liked Anna very much, simply because I was able to relate to her. Like her, I tend to overthink things and be anxious from time to time, especially when I'm in a new environment without any idea on what I should do. I also like that she has big dreams, and she does what she can to achieve those. In regards to St. Clair, he seems very attractive but it doesn't change the fact that he annoyed me in some parts of the book. I understand that he had problems. However, it shouldn't be an excuse to mess with other people's feelings (unintentional or not). But anyway, it's just my opinion. Still I liked him because of the accent and well he's nice.

Paris, the most romantic place ever. Honestly, I never even dreamed of going to Paris not until I read this book. I want to go watch a movie there, and experience their food with, of course, the person I love.

But aside from the things stated above, what I loved most in this book is the lesson it taught me, and that is "true friends forgive one another". No matter how big the problem was, and how many hurtful things you said, eventually you'll end up forgiving each other. Someone or both of you just have to take a step.

I can't wait to read the next book! Hoping that I'll love it as much as I loved this. Truth be told though, I'm more excited with the third book. Should I just skip Lola and move to Isla instead? Kiddin'!
