Nothing Lasts Forever by Sidney Sheldon
5.0
I'm going as far as putting this book in my most prestigious shelf, because why the hell not. It has been a while since I have read a book that kept me engage. Maybe that was one of the reasons why this book got a 5-star rating for me.
Was it perfect? No, it wasn't. But did it pull me out of my slump? Yes.
I knew I could never go wrong with a Sidney Sheldon book. I am so glad that I had picked this one up today, the first rest day that I had in a long while.
To be honest, I was reluctant to grab this book because I didn't think that a story about doctors was the one that I need right now. I thought I was going to be bored but lo and behold, their story were very entertaining. It pulled me right in and I refused to sleep just to finish this book. It took me about five-six hours tops.
I truly rooted and cared for these characters and there were moments of satisfaction whenever there was a debunking moment that gets revealed. Another contribution to the 5-stars probably because I missed watching Grey's Anatomy. When I encountered "Dr. 007" I was like, oh hey, I know that! Then there was also a mention of a certain Dr. Stevens somewhere.
This just jumped to my favorite S.S. novel with all of these combined.
This felt like a watered down version of Sidney Sheldon's books. After Doomsday Consipiracy, it was from a high point entertainment to a low-middle point.
It was still good and I spent an entire afternoon reading this book. A page-turner, surely. But the plot was not that extensive. It was not that engaging. I do love the history of our lead character and I found that I was really rooting with her relationship with the musician.
There was just not a lot of action going. It was mostly corporate talk and all that. Bloodline was also about that but it was interesting than this one. I enjoyed it nonetheless.

The Sands of Time
