Man I really enjoyed this read. I think the author being a physician really made a difference for a reader who is also a medical professional. You could tell she actually knew what she was talking about and how to write medical scenes with accuaracy in not only terminology but sequencing, emotion, calculation, etc. Most authors who try to write a medical scene only get the terminology part right, the rest only can come from someone with in depth experience in medicine. The storyline was so different and unique. She kept her foot on the gas so you felt suspense throughout the entire book once it started. She also had a way of slowly seeping terror into her scenes in a way that you were caught off guard when all of a sudden you're scared as well. Whether from a physical description, reaction, or what. Such great writing. I can't wait to read some of her other books.
