4 solid stars. I loved Martha— a competent, confident, tall, kind woman in her 50s?? I want all my protagonists like her! One flaw, for me. If the indigenous folks in the area are going to feature so prominently, they need to exist as speaking characters. Doctor was good but the indigenous deserved more.
