I loved the spirit of adventure and the pacing in this book, Magic, monsters, and mayhem, what's not to love? I liked the main character, especially as she is a woman who goes against a lot of the societal norms one expects from women. I do not know much about Muslim culture but it was refreshing to get a fantasy narrative from that perspective.
