Betrayal by Sarah Bailey
5.0
Once again, Sarah Bailey has given me an intoxicating man to obsess over followed by a infuriating cliffhanger! But fortunately for me, this series is complete so I’m diving right into the next book.
Avery is a young heiress who seems to have the perfect life. Close friends, loving parents, and a promising future. But then one night, that all changes. Her perfect everything is ripped away by one dark man, who then takes her captive.
Aiden’s hatred for Avery’s family runs deep. He has suffered by the hands of the Daniels since he was a small boy. He’s finally serving up his revenge, but then there’s one little hiccup that throws it all off, Avery. And the fact she’s a witness to what Aiden has done. He takes her home with him, planning to use her for leverage. Their relationship is rocky in the beginning to say the least. Then Avery starts to get under his skin. But how could Avery possibly form an attraction to the man who has stolen her life from her?
Aiden finally lets Avery in on her family’s dark past and horrifying secrets. She somewhat justifies what Aiden has done and she forms a deep need for him. The same goes for him. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. Two people who should never work given the circumstances, constantly fought their attraction until they just couldn’t anymore. Avery completely submits to Aiden, but he submits to her as well. Aiden loses his control when it comes to her.
Avery is the light the Aiden’s darkness.
Aiden reveals the part of his plans he needs Avery to facilitate and she’s not on board at all. To the point where she leaves him, breaking her promise. And Aiden lets her go. Of course, we, the readers, are not privy to Aiden’s plan at the end of this book!! But hopefully we can get out answers in Sacrifice.
