The kind of classic everyone should read. The plot is intriguing and pretty straightforward, the imagery is beautiful, especially when it comes to nature and the passing seasons, and the text just flows very nicely. It's short enough that you can read it in a day or two, and rich enough that you'll want to do it more than once.

I really enjoyed the Armitage translation, others may be more accurate to the source his seemed to be the best at bringing out the poetry and really relishing in the alliteration, with passages like:

Staff came quickly and served him in style
with several soups all seasoned to taste
