This book was, admittedly, less fun than the other two (understandable!). And it dragged. There were too many similes for 600+ pages. The extra POVs, repetitions of similar chapters that already happened,
and the betrayal subplot
left me asking, "But why?" I think this trilogy would have been better as a duology of two long books.

I had two pet peeves with this book.  First, why do all the side characters die in every book?? Seriously, what was the goal of Maxim's spell and death? It really didn't seem to slow Osaron down at all.  Second, world building?  The three countries still seemed to be a big part of the plot in Red London, but I came away from the third book still wondering how the alliances worked and why they were made.  65 years isn't that long a time to forget the origins of peace!  And why do all the Londons have kings?  Are there other countries in Red London or only the three kingdoms?  No clue!  Keeping things surface level for the first installment of a trilogy is totally valid.  But by book three we should have something deeper and wider about the world we're in.
