The Pioneer Woman: Black Heels to Tractor Wheels: A Love Story
by Ree Drummond
I enjoyed the serialized version of this story on Ree's blog as it unfolded. Put it all together in a book though, and I just couldn't finish it. The self- involvement, the angst, the numerous steamy make-out sessions ( that never resulted in anything more? Methinks thou dost protest TOO, too much). I've lost interest in the blog of late, got tired of the re-posting of her one studio photo multiple times, and now I think the blog has been ruined for me for a long time. Recipes are still good though.
**Edited 4/14/11** Changing my rating from two to one star. The more I think about it, the more irritated I get. I haven't been able to go back to read the blog since I tried to read this book, because reading a full dose of the self-absorption and foibles, instead of a periodic dose, really changed the whole tone, the whole vision of PW for me. Huge error in judgement, publishing this, IMO.
