Overall, I really enjoyed the series and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys world building that includes dark, gritty fantasy with complex characters and intense plot twists. Kuang's writing is powerful and evocative, immersing the reader in a world of political intrigue and brutal warfare. The Poppy War series is definitely not for the faint of heart, but if you can handle the graphic violence and brutal honesty, it's worth it. I really hated the main character the majority of the time, she was hard to love but man did Kuang do a great job creating her character. The whole series was a rollercoaster, with an unexpected ending.
