Book 2 of 5
These books are not necessarily good. I'm not sure why I even read the 2nd book as the 1st one is so obviously "inspired" by Sarah J Maas's books. Like, I feel as if I can tell exactly how these books are going to go without finishing them, as I have already read all 3 of SJMs series.
The main characters are predictable to the point of me rolling my eyes at their decisions some of the time.
I do enjoy the side characters but, again, I feel like that is because they are written like the side characters of any SJM book and I have always found them to be enjoyable to read.
I think what is keeping me hooked is the differentiations from SJM. That is to say, of the author hadn't so obviously been an SJM fan, I would have enjoyed the series more.
I do find myself wanting to read the next book though just to see how the series continues to be similar to, and differentiates from, all of SJMs series.
