Caraval by Stephanie Garber

5.0

This is a review after my 2nd read of Caraval. I have no idea why I didn't review it the first read!?!
As you may or may not know this is my favourite series ever. Words cannot explain what Caraval means as after reading this beauty I got myself into bookstagramming in which I've met some absolutely wonderful people. So yeah, to me this was more than just a book.

Tella remains my favourite character in this series as I think me and her are quite similar (we dont get a lot a dialogue from her in this one for obvious reasons) but just from what is implied and said by Scarlet I know Tella is my gal.
Scarlet is just too reserved and 'soppy-eyed' the majority of this book. Like, you're in Caraval for Pete's sake... this is what you've wanted for yeeeeears! If I was to change anything I would have swapped the parts of Tella & Scarlet in this book as the game of Caraval is my real love and I want to see more of what it can do!

Caraval: The game - Its magical! Literally! I fell into the pages and before I knew it hours have gone past and I've had the most whimsical adventure. I love the carnival theme & thought in a way it could be compared to Alice in Wonderland? no? Maybe its just me, but Scarlet is playing Caraval to find her sister and leave before her wedding, coming across some mysterious strange folks along the way and has the most bizarre adventures, all the while a bigger dark force is at play and nothing is as it seems.

Stephanie Garber has some serious storytelling skills and I only hope we get many more years of her incredible stories!
