The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
5.0
While I enjoy many books, a few mean so much to me that I end up reading and rereading at least once a year. This book touched me so much I ended up buying it digitally and physically. I've spent the last day or so since I've finished it just thinking about it. Going back, looking at the illustrations and rereading my highlights.
“All grown-ups were once children... but only few of them remember it.”
I had expected to tear up at the end of it (as I already knew the ending), but I ended up tearing up all throughout. It's painful to realize how cold and hard our lives as adults can be if we let it. It's hard to remember what our authentic selves were truly like before the distractions of bills, work and 'adulting' tasks. This book helps one remember what's truly important.
“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.”
I love this so much and am now going to read the translations. A perfect book to start the new year with.
