It’s weird how some books come to you at a time in your life when you can especially relate to them. Vera is a Hispanic movie star trying to make it big playing Salome. The story is told from the perspective of Vera and Salome during the time of Jesus. I love stories told in two periods. They both are the story of these women who want things in their life but there are barriers including patriarchy, culture, racism, and other women. At work now I am especially feeling some of these timeless barriers
