I am a self proclaimed “dog lady” and was so excited to see a dog themed rom com novel coming out! And even better that there were still ARCs available!

Cora runs a pet store with her grandfather, but her heart isn’t in it. As much as she loves her dogs and her grandfather, her dream is to be a designer.

Leo is a burned out investment banker something or other, healing from a divorce, and with a young Aussie. He also just opened a competing pet store across the street from Cora’s.

There’s an amateur dog show coming up and the prize is $15,000…and they both need the money. Through a series of mishaps, fights, and working together with their dogs, they both prepare to compete in the show, making them business competitors and dog show adversaries.

This was a cute novel, and lots of fun for any dog lover! As a “dog lady” who competes with my own dogs, I personally would have liked a little more detail about the dog training, sports, and maybe a more realistic dog show competition. But for the average dog lover it’s probably the perfect amount of dog combined with romance and doesn’t go overboard with dog technicalities, haha.

The writing was engaging, and there was a little spice. Fairly tame, but still open door.

Overall, 3.75ish stars (I’m not big into defined numbers clearly!) For a very cute and fun read, definitely pick up Worst in Show, ESPECIALLY if you love dogs!
