llandis 's review for:
All Things Cease to Appear
by Elizabeth Brundage
3.5 stars. While I enjoyed reading this book for the most part, it's perhaps the most unthrilling thriller ever. It's a mystery, a who-done-it of sorts, but without any sort of satisfying resolution (well, mostly... some parts of the ending were very satisfying). It wasn't scary, though it did have its disturbing moments. The writing style is unique and very beautiful, especially the landscape descriptions which (fittingly) could have been describing landscape paintings. But I think the plot and the main characters could have been developed further to make the book more suspenseful overall.
