The Great Book of Amber: The Complete Amber Chronicles, 1-10
by Roger Zelazny
quite simply, the ideas are creative & the writing was often immersive and lively, but every female character seems like the same person (attractive, sexually available, with some nominal personality if at all [evil machinations aren't a personality, they're a plot point]), and your writing's just not that great if you can't write women.
