tried reading this as an avid dragon prince fan, and it was pretty good! certainly, it was aimed at a younger audience, as i found the writing a tad juvenile. my gripe with this book is that though it's canon, there are some inconsistencies with the show. they're not anything super major, but it's a little jarring to read something that occurred differently in the show.

that being said, i liked seeing the thoughts of characters and reading about scenes that happened away from the screen. it added an extra layer to the story and a much greater insight into the characters. the foreshadowing was also better, or at least, more obvious? anyway, soren was best boy, and i just love his weird humour 💗

also, the book VERY CLEARLY SAID that viren did something to harrow before the moonshadow assassins came, but we don't know what. TELL ME PLS IM DYING, is harrow's spirit in pip (bird) or what????
