Professor Litman knocks it out of the park with Lawless! In five detailed, but fun if sometimes dark chapters, she outlines how the Supreme Court is working against Democracy. Addressing reproductive rights, civil rights, voting rights, free speech, and the efforts to limit our ability to make the country better she breaks down complex legal concepts and decisions in a way that is approachable and educational. She takes down Sam Alito and his fellow travellers, but gives us a closing that is hopeful and outlines concrete ideas to make things better. Bruce Springsteen says "The country we carry in our heart is waiting." Professor Litman gives a route there.
