I can't say I knew what was going on at any point in the story - but I can say I enjoyed it. It's basically the butterfly effect on steroids. Although I read it slowly, this is easily a boom that could be picked up and devoured in a single sitting.
There is endless gorgeous, floral language around love and what another person can mean to you. And FLIRTING! Wow. For a sapphic story of two futuristic beings who can basically take any form they want, the way pronouns were handled well in this book was really excellent and was not at all confusing - except in the moments when it was meant to be *wink*
