Did not finish book. Stopped at 26%.
One review on Goodreads had a good quote that summed up some of the issues: “Had the bark of Game of Thrones but not the bite” - for an adult fantasy debut, this book read more at a YA level (cursing, nudity and gore do not, a gritty adult high fantasy book, make).
Not to mention a whacked pacing schedule, an idiot MC, lack of agency and depth in the SCs (especially female SCs), and every female character of importance smacked so much of not-like-other-girls, I had to let out the breath I didn’t know I was holding.
