romancelibrary 's review for:
Backstage Pass
by Olivia Cunning
There is sexy and there is gross. This book has a mix of both. Yea...it's weird.
Backstage Pass is an erotic romance with zero to little plot and swift character development that comes out of nowhere at the very end of the book. Here's the thing: this book is mostly focused on sex, which makes sense because it's an erotic romance. But the romance and character development just come out of nowhere in the very last part of the story, which didn't fit with the overall tone of the book.
A Very Scientific Breakdown:
90% = dirty and kinky sex
5% = some semblance of a plot
5% = less than stellar character development
Brian is an immature hero, but he's oddly sweet and endearing. Myrna is a commitment phobe who refuses to say the big L word until the very last page of the book. Brian is the kind of guy who falls in love with every woman who pays attention to him, something I never understood. What makes Myrna different from the other girls he supposedly fell in love with? How does he know she's the one? Because she is the only one who didn't cheat on him with Sed? That's a pretty weak link. I don't know what else to say about this book and the characters because literally nothing happens. If you want to read dirty (the good kind and the gross kind) and kinky sex, then this is the book for you. If you want to read a book that actually has a story, then back away from this one.
