Let's Talk About Love by Claire Kann

3.0

A 3.5 really! When on earth will we be able to give half-star ratings!

I wish I had liked this more than I did -- I absolutely LIVED FOR the premise, and I really really really appreciated all the different kinds of love present in this book. You have sweet romantic love, deep strong platonic love, complicated family love -- more books could use such a diverse depiction! And more books could use a PROPER PERSPECTIVE ON ASEXUALITY!!! Like!!! What a good thing!

Unfortunately, the timing of the book felt weirdly off to me, like we'd skip whole weeks and events and just be expected to fill in the gaps afterwards. And sometimes the dialogue felt... weirdly stilted, I guess? Which is why this isn't a full four stars for me.

But really, if you want to learn more about asexuality and you want to read about the different ways we can have families, check this out. I'm definitely keeping my eyes peeled for more from Claire Kann since there is a lot of great potential there!
