One of the things I love the most about Rebecca’s Serle’s books is how she transports you to the setting. There are so many specific details - I mean, I want to use her books as a restaurant guide. We got a tour of LA in Expiration Dates, Positano in One Italian Summer and New York with this one. I just love her writing - it’s so simple yet evokes so much.

If I might offer some advice with this one though: go in blind. This unfortunately was not the case for me - I’d heard so much about this over the years that I was just waiting for things to happen based on what I had heard this book is about. While not technically spoilers, it took me out of it and I wasn’t able to appreciate it as fully as I would have going in blind (even though I did enjoy the ride).

I think this book is also meant to be binged in one sitting, if possible. It’s super short and I read 70% in one sitting then the rest in small chunks and it ruined my momentum a bit.

All in all, I still loved it, but would have loved it more if I’d gone in blind and binged in one sitting. <3
