Opium and Absinthe by Lydia Kang

5.0

This book was absolutely fantastic. I was laughing out loud, actually out loud, within the first two chapters. I loved Tilly’s character so much.

For those of you put off by the vampire theme, please don’t be. This is not a tale of vampires, there will be no sparkling or turning fried rice into maggots (am I aging myself with that last one?) It is a story of an industrious young woman during the late 1800’s. A woman who would rather read and build upon her vocabulary that study the proper hunt seat on a horse.

If you’ve been debating this one, stop debating and get it.
