I'm a little disappointed with this book. The kids enjoyed it, and it was silly and fun. However the gender rolls are very outdated, with the stay at home wife, and the man who works and does no housework. Also the animal care of the penguins is not great, and the finale is introducing an invasive species on purpose. It spurred some thoughtful discussions in our house, but I wouldn't recommend kids read it without the benefit of someone knowledgeable to have that discussion with afterwards.
