My overall opinion is that this is a good book. I read it in several hour long spurts over a few days, and it's not every book I'm able to sit with for multiple hours at a time.
It didn't quite hit the mark for me though. I felt like there were many small things that irked me or just didn't work for me (and I think some of it has to do with this being a book targeted at teens and I'm in my late twenties). One thing that bothered me, was that I oftek struggled to tell the two narrators apart. I felt like their voices were quite similar a lot of the time.
I also felt like there were so many opportunities for foreshadowing that weren't taken advantage of, and in stead we get "by the way, I saw that thing way back when".
Mostly I enjoyed it though. It's a good book to pick if yoy enjoy post-apocalyptic cross country walks, slow building romance and queer teens!
