I have so many thoughts about this book π«£! I really enjoyed this read but I caution new readers to be PATIENT with the plot. Definitely a strong start to the series but there's a LOT of context and exposition. In my opinion, the plot moves at a much slower pace in comparison to series like The Bound and the Broken or Faithful and the Fallen, BUT Ryan does a great job keeping you immersed in the story.
There's a hidden depth to this book that I wasn't really expecting that made it even more enjoyable. You really have to pay attention, because I noticed even things that didn't seem super significant ended up being pretty impactful.
I loved the found family element to this and the action was SUPERB ππΎπ€©!!! I look forward to how much deeper this story goes. Even before the end of the book, it was clear that this was merely the tip of the iceberg. There's action, a lil romance, tragedy, betrayal, adventure and even some mystery! You're in for a good time if you pick it up π€.
