At this point, this mangaka is my lord and savior when it comes to monster stories. He’s just SO FUCKING GOOD. He does not disappoint. His work is just QUALITY.

I’ve read a few reviews saying they wished the stories  were longer, and I’ve read other manga short stories and traditional short stories where I wanted them to be longer, but I totally disagree with this take! I think every single story was perfectly paced. It had everything you needed to immerse yourself in the story while also providing a satisfying resolution.

I was honestly genuinely impressed by how well written the short stories were. Maybe I shouldn’t have been since MADK is absolutely phenomenal (even if thematically it is night to this collection’s day), but I’m so happy I loved every single story! That’s ultimately how I wanted to feel about this omnibus. So, I’m just really relieved.

ALSO. I love that we got multiple approaches to love. It wasn’t solely focused on romantic love. Human and monster relationships were at the core of this collection, but not always as something romantic. I think, for me personally, that just elevated the collection even more. I’m always here for storytellers that aren’t afraid to show there’s more than one kind of love.

Anyway. Gonna go scream into the abyss while I wait for more of this mangaka’s work to be officially translated to English ✌🏼
