Lady of Shadows
by Melissa K. Roehrich
I did not want this book to end. I am so glad this was a random pick for me on Kindle Unlimited. I feel like I literally tripped into this world and just can't and don't want to leave. I've read 3 of the books currently (Legacy series #1 and the first 2 of Lady of Darkness) and I ended up telling my boyfriend that I want the books for my gift this year, so well I now have them on their way!
I love the world that has been set. Starting with the Legacy book #1 is why I have gone back to this set first. I loved the other series, but I felt I needed this one first to get more info, more explanations and understanding to things that are probably coming up or have come up. This is a book I had a really hard time putting down. I would grudgingly have to go to bed, well after my bedtime mind you.... But I feel it was worth it to have the moments I got longer.
We get more of the world with Scarlett, Sorin, Cyrus, Eliza and Reynor and of course our Mortal Prince. I'm still in a debate on how I feel about him, but hey maybe he will make up for things he did..... Ever. I love the banter we get with Scarlett and Cyrus, Scarlett and Sorin of course and even the bits we get with Briar. We meet new people as Scarlett learns more about herself, the world, and what exactly might be going on for her own life. This girl really just needs a break. But I don't think she would change a single thing that has happened to her. Sorin is probably one of my favorite book boyfriends at this point. He's top of my list in ranking out of 10. I can't wait to get more with these characters, find out more of what is going on with everyone including hopefully a glimpse back at the previous things that were mentioned. I don't want to give away all the critical parts, because I want you to read the book. This was a hidden gem, it is most definitely underrated and I hope eventually for people who like the subject material that they take the leap and turn the page and fall in love with everyone as I have.
I am.... patiently..... awaiting my book-mail to come in so that I can read the physical books now. This is definitely a series that I will be adding to my list of re-readable books.
I believe that for those who like ToG this could be a very likeable series. It's a bit more on the darker side, it does have similarities, but I wouldn't say the same. I personally love Scarlett. I'm not sure how others may feel, but I feel like she is going to grow into herself. This is only the beginning, and I can't wait to see where we will be taken next.
