Hopeless
by Elsie Silver
I love Elsie Silver and this series with my whole heart but this book didn’t do it for me. I couldn’t get on board with Beau and Bailey’s relationship because I didn’t feel any chemistry or connection with them at all besides the sexual attraction they had for each other. The reasoning behind their fake engagement was a far fetched reason for a fake engagement trope especially since it didn’t benefit Bailey at all.
As always, the appearances of past characters made me smile. I love seeing my favorites happy and thriving, especially Willa.
I appreciate that the author put some of her real life into the story in the way of the burns and skin grafts on the tops of Beau’s feet. I love when authors add a little bit of themselves to their characters and let us readers get to know them a little more deeply.
Not every book your favorite author writes will be a hit for you and that is ok! Just because this one didn’t work for me doesn’t mean I hated it. I love this author and will continue to support all of her work!
