The Door to December by Dean Koontz

1.0

At one point Koontz says to his reader (through the protagonist), "'The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read them.' Mark Twain said that".

This tells you all you need to know about what Koontz thinks of his audience. But if you like being strapped into the literary equivalent of a ball-kicking machine, have at it.

And just to set the record straight, Twain never said those words. What I wouldn't give to read his takedown of this trash.

And another thing!: "Call me Marge"?!! Get the fuck outta here, you hack!

I guess the one good thing I can say is that reading shit books like this helps you better understand what makes for a good book--or even a minimally competent one.
