It has only taken me 50 years to get around to reading David Copperfield – my copy of the book was a good-work prize that I received at school in 1970 and for half a century it sat on my bookshelf unloved and unread. But what a wonderful, sad, happy, funny and descriptive story story it is. I should have read it years ago. I'm laughing out loud in one chapter and holding back the tears in the next. Brilliant!
