An absolutely amazing book!! When i tell you i couldn't get enough of it, i seriously mean it. I was hooked within 5 minutes of listening to it because the narrator does such a good job of conveying all of the emotion that Constanta is feeling. I especially loved that she never really addressed 'the lord' by his name, it took away so much of his identity and made it clear that even though she was telling their story, it really had nothing to do with him. It also perfectly portrays an abusive relationship and how even when you're stuck with someone like him, just how hard it can be to actually escape. Also shows the manipulation that is involved in a relationship like theirs, and how controlling his character is so that he always gets what he wants, until the brides eventually retaliate against him. I was so happy that in the end they were all able to get away from him and start living their immortal lives for themselves.
