I was disappointed by a few aspects of this book. Mainly the pace and at times it was boring. It took me a long time to finish it just because I didnt have the desire to read it. The drift between Mal and Alina

(and the weird triangle that was introduced with Nikolai)

was uneccessary and frankly felt like it was there to fill space. I did enjoy the writing and the side characters are splendid!
