Hurt Me So Good by Joely Sue Burkhart

2.0

This wasn't the novel for me. I was expecting something a bit more darker, a bit more psychologically explorative in the realms of the more taboo parts of human desire and sexuality. I was a bit sad to find that this was more of a shallow, too good to be true, love story with the stereotypical characters. The sadomasochistic part of the story just felt like an attempt at putting a new twist on a typical love story.

This novel would work for romantics who are interested in S&M. There's definitely some good information and safe practices that are promoted within the novel. It's an easy read with a feel good ending. It's not meant to challenge your perceptions are shed understanding on the mental workings within BDSM.

So if you want a fluffy S&M love story then this is the novel for you.
