The Atlas Six
by Olivie Blake
This was a much anticipated read and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was greatly disappointed.
So much happened and nothing happened.
The characters all felt flat. The only character I found slightly likable was Libby. There were too many characters and too many side plots that really didn’t mean much of anything in the end.
Tristan having 3 love interests… but none of them were developed very well, and two of them also having other love interests… and then he kind of chooses one with no discussion or fall out, but at the same time also not choosing one…
I was also hoping we were starting out strong with an enemies to lovers situation. It ended up seeming like more of an enemies to friends situation. Then, one of them is big sad at the end making me think hmm maybe enemies to lovers isn’t off the table for the next book. BUT all the characters and relationships are so convoluted who even knows. They could all be in one big relationship in the next book.
Who turns out to be the bad guy in the end, was not very expected and certainly not built toward except for in the very vaguest sense.
Everything was there, but it’s like all the ingredients were poured in and just left to sit there on the counter.
