scromero 's review for:
The Bookshop on the Corner
by Jenny Colgan
This could have been very cute. I love books about books but unfortunately the romances and characters were underwhelming and juvenile. It irritated me that Nina was so childish and uneducated on serious matters (like buying a truck without seeing if she could park it?!?).
Nina felt a bit like a āIām not like other girls, I ~read~ā she definitely was suppose to be a charming shy and awkward person that needed others to take care of her. Always find this to be overdone and ridiculous.
First part was definitely easier to digest. The romance really made this book difficult to read. Should have stopped halfway but unfortunately finished it.
