Still Life by Sarah Winman

5.0

I LOVED this! It's full of emotion and hope and raw moments. The cast of characters was so colorful and diverse and their interactions were delightful in every way. I went in thinking it would be set only during WWII but we get to see time go by, and even a few flashbacks. It's packed with historical and artistic references, philosophical musings, and beautiful quotes.

Bullet review:
- Spanning many years
- Set in Florence
- Bohemian vibes
- Life, history, and art
- Vibrant cast
- Magical realism
- Found family
- Second chances

This gave me some "The Enchanted April" vibes and my heart is full. This kind of book gives me a feeling of traveling and experiencing something completely new. The setting was wonderful and gave me a huge craving for Italian food! I absolutely recommend if you aren't able to go on vacation right now: this is your ticket!
