Contemporary science fiction at its very best! The novel is set in that malleable period known as just a few years from now, close enough that we still recognize familiarity, distant enough so that everyone's got a self-driving car. The novel is ostensibly about time travel, and that is a nice hook; but it's really about the meaning of truth in a post-truth era. It's about the differnece between the truth of facts and the truth of... well, Truth, that capital-T Truth that everyone since Plato has been trying to define.
