Night Embrace
by Sherrilyn Kenyon
This is a story that told of Talon- a cast-out Celtic Prince from long ago and his relationship with Sunshine of Present day New Orleans.
They first meet with each other as he saves her from a Daimon attack and is then run over to unconsciousness by a Mardi Gras parade float made up of the Greek God Dionysus. Sunshine, thankful for him saving her from attack, takes him to her home so he can rest and heal. Soon after that a passion between the two ignites that would give the fires of Hell a run for its money.
With Talon's mind and emotions scattered and unclear so close to Mardi Gras--a time where Daimons roam the streets in many numbers to pray on human souls, lots of tension ensue throught this 408 page novel.
In comparison to Night Pleasures, the two main characters in this book didnt really keep me interested as much as Kyrian and Amanda did, however it was the side characters, such as Archeron and Zarek, that saved this book for me. I'm very interested in learning more about these two characters and am thoroughly excited that Zarek is going to be the MC in the next novel Dance With the Devil.
I still plan on continuing with this series as I really want to get to Dream Hunter and learn more about the Dream hunter species of the DH world.
All in all I'd give it 3.5 stars out of 5.
