This book is like a car crash, hard to look away but really not pleasant or insightful. It captivated temporarily with a blend of horror and eroticism, chock filled with gruesome details. However, the book ultimately falls short of its potential. While the portrayal of abused individuals gravitating towards controlling men and BDSM could have provided a compelling psychological exploration, the execution is lacking.

The concept of a protagonist choosing to remain in an environment rife with murder and isolation is intriguing, yet the book completely fails to delve deeply into this.
