I love "My Cat from Hell," so when this book came out, my husband got me a copy. It is primarily about Jackson, not cats, though there are boxes throughout the book highlighting different cat tips.

Basically, the book chronicles his journey to becoming the TV personality we know--through working in shelters, consulting, and his addictions. If you watch the show as a family, know that this book is very much for adults. He is honest about the euthanasia process in animal shelters, and some of those sections were difficult to read.

Some have complained that there isn't enough focus on cats in the book, and, as the title indicates, that isn't really the point. It is how working with animals, cats in particular, shaped him as a person.

It wasn't an easy read, but it was compelling.
