I liked the first half of the book. However, I just could not maintain my interest after that point.

While I understand that the female love interest feels a strong connection to her home, would she really marry a man who she hates and seriously hurt the man she says she loves to keep it? I feel like the conflict is either her being a jerk or the author making a conflict for the sake of a conflict.
