It's clear why this is such a classic. Its simplicity is deceptive — on the surface, it’s just a small family drama in a single setting, but the emotional weight, the symbolism, and the layered characters make it feel universal and timeless. The characters are so compelling because they feel real. None of them are purely good or bad—they’re doing all the wrong things but they are trying to take care of each other and you can't help but root for them. It's surprisingly comedic too, which keeps it feeling real and avoids it being too heavy.
