This will be a short review, as I want to keep it spoiler-free. And there is a lot happening in this domestic suspense novel that can be seen as spoilers.

What you will quickly realise while reading “No One Saw it Coming” that all isn’t always what it seems. During the first couple of chapters, we are introduced to the affluent and elegant married couple, Jack and Hanna Madden. They are happily married, has got two children, and are pillars of the community. Yes, of course there is more happening beneath the surface.

An intricate family dynamic unfolds, with the unveiling of secrets as well as a few curve balls. There were a few twists that I did see coming, and I don’t know why it irritated me so much when I realised I was correct. But that is possibly only a personal opinion.

There is an entire cast of complex characters – not all likeable or reliable, which is fine as well! It did add to the dynamic and drama. As with the characters, the plot is also complex and convoluted.
The plot was well-paced, in my opinion, and it was a quick and enjoyable read. This book was well-written, compelling, and gripping.

At the centre, family relationships with several themes integrated herein – including mental health and betrayal, but also with loyal friendships (Seb was my favourite person in this book) and the will to stand up for what matters.

I am keen to read more of Susan Lewis’s books, it is a known fact that she a master in writing heart-stopping family dramas!

Thanks to Jonathan Ball Publishers for the opportunity to read this book.
